18th birthday

I had a lovely birthday! The day before my actual birthday, I went into Boston with my boyfriend. We walked around, shopped, then went to dinner at The Melting pot. There, he gave me my present, an anchor necklace from Tiffany! (seen on right)
I woke up on my actual birthday with a migraine and nausea but it didn't last all day. My boyfriend came over and we spent some time together, just relaxing. The UPS truck stopped at my house and delivered my new EF 35mm f/1.4L USM lens which I was wicked happy about, it's wonderful. My mom got home later and brought along with her a small birthday cake that was Tiffany blue with a snowflake on it, it was delicious!
18 doesn't feel much different than 17, but I'm going to be much more independent now I've decided. I'm going to start following my dream of becoming a pro photographer and focus on working hard, while maintaining happiness. I have my whole adult life ahead of me and I'm going to make the best of whatever is thrown at me. Happiness is going to be key in my life. xo

Illuminate

Illuminate by Lydia has to be one of my favorite, if not favorite, albums ever. It's rare that I love an entire album and can listen to it over and over again, but with this one, I can. The lyrics and the music are just so incredibly beautiful. It has also finally inspired me to hopefully take piano lessons, something I've wanted to do for a long time. To be honest, I first listened to Lydia because people who I thought were cool liked them, but I fell in love with them immediately. So, if you haven't listened to this album or band before, I highly recommend doing so as soon as you possibly can. You won't regret it. xo

Life update

I haven't used this blog in forever! Recently I've been getting aquatinted with this guy and things seem to be going really nicely with him. We talk pretty much all day, everyday. I met him at these two parties I went to a few weeks ago, we started talking via Facebook and just kind of hit it off. It's exciting that something may become of this! I really think I like him a lot.

Also, I haven't been shooting much lately :( but I hope to start putting my cameras to work again very soon. I made a 500px account and you can view that here. I need to become a shutterbug like I was for a while, but I think fall coming around will help that very much.
So, nothing too exciting has happened but I'll just have to see what changes fall brings, other than the colors of the leaves. xo

Photography gear ♥

If you don't know, I quite love photography. I have 3 digital cameras (2 being dSLRs) and now I have 2 film cameras. One of them I need to be checked out (Canon AE-1 Program) because I don't know much about film SLR cameras and I bought it off of ebay a while back, and another one (Olympus OM10) my uncle gave me and it was one of my grandfather's many cameras. They both need new batteries before I can use them but I will be getting those very soon. The next thing photography related I'm getting after I save enough money for a lens I want is either a Holga or A Lomo Fisheye camera. They both look like so much fun. I'm glad I've found a hobby that I love enough to possibly make a career out of. I'll be posting photos I take from now on very often on here. Say cheese! xo

Favorite recent beauty purchase

Recently my mom was watching QVC and I was just sitting there, but makeup came on screen so I was curious because I love makeup. It was this eyeshadow that works as an eyeliner. It was called Eye Rimz by Laura Geller. The product demonstrations looked pretty cool so my mom asked me if I wanted to try it. She knows I love eyeliner, so she ordered it. The package came a few days later and I tried it the day after I got it when I was going to a show. I went to the bathroom, wet the brush like instructed, and started putting it on. I don't know what it is about that brush but this stuff applied amazing. I was expecting to have to try a bit to get a straight line like I have to do with my liquid eyeliner, but that wasn't the case. It stayed on pretty well considering I have deep set eyes and most everything rubs off and requires re-application. It still looked decent after almost 8 hours and no touch-ups. If you like a dark line on your lids and would love easy application I seriously recommend this product. You can order it from QVC for about $24 and I really think it's worth it so far.
